DVD EASTER EGGS
Now your thinking to your self what do DVDs and Easter Eggs have to do with each other? Please allow me to explain.
An Easter Egg is hidden feature located in some where sweetly tucked away in part of a DVD menu. The packaging makes no mention of their existence. Some of these hidden treasures may be easy for find, while others prove to be more difficult.
A nice added value feature if they're found or wasted effort if left uncovered. Like how you found this page!!
The Mummy: Collector's Edition:
From the main menu click on Special Features then Cast and Filmmakers. Click on Brendan Fraser and advance to the fist page of his filmography. From there you can watch a trailer for Gods and Monsters. From the main menu click on Special Features then Cast and Filmmakers. Click on the next arrow the click on Arnold Vosloo. Advance to the first page of his filmography and you can watch a trailer for Darkman II: The Return of Durant. From the main menu click in Languages. Once the animation is complete Jerry Goldsmith's score plays uncut from start to finish.
BEDAZZLED: To the rocker
When you go to any of the bonus materials menus, just point the cursor to the right instead of up or down. A devil of Elizabeth Hurley appears. You hit the devil and a expicit material warning comes up.
A 10 minute scene deleted begins to play featuring B. Fraser as a rock star. (sexual references)
BLAST FROM THE PAST:
From the Main Menu arrow down and then left until the airplane or car appear (next to Blast From The Past). Click on it and the DVD credits will appear.
The Mummy Returns:
#1-On the main screen, select Bonus Materials. Once there, select More and continue to the next menu. Select Egyptology 201, then select An In-Depth Look At Mummification. Once there, press the right arrow twice to highlight the scorpion symbol. Select it to watch a short movie about mummification.
#2-Once on the second Bonus Materials menu screen, highlight Menu and press up. The symbol above Menu will be highlighted. Hit enter to see some DVD credits.
#3-From main menu go to Bonus Materials. Go to the second page and click on Live Forever Music Video. When it starts to play, skip to the next track. The trailer for the Sound track will start.
The Mummy:
Go to the disc's main menu and select the Language menu. Once the animation is done you will hear the soundtrack in its entirety as background music for the menu screen.
Monkeybone:
From the disc’s main menu go to 'Language Selection.' Once on that new screen, press the 'right' arrow key on your remote control and Monkeybone will appear with a sign reading, 'Press Play To The Organ Harvest'. Press 'Enter' now and you will see a short behind-the-scenes clip about the special effects from the movie’s organ donor scene.
